Thriving Third Sector Steering Group

The NYSP Thriving Third Sector Steering Group will support partners to improve the environment for a thriving voluntary and community sector in North Yorkshire.

Remit

The Thriving Third Sector Steering Group will;

  • oversee adherence to the Compact principles and the Compact way of working in partnerships across the North Yorkshire Strategic Partnership
  • provide a mechanism for the effective and efficient resolution of issues and concerns relating to commissioning and funding practices and processes which have a detrimental impact on a thriving voluntary and community sector
  • oversee the implementation of good practice standards in commissioning, funding, partnership working, representation

Accountability

The Group is a sub-group of the Stronger and Rural Communities Thematic Partnership and will report on its activity and impact on a quarterly basis.

Membership

Membership of the NYSP Thriving Third Sector Steering Group will be made up of equal representation from the statutory and voluntary and community sector.

Chair

The Group is co-Chaired by Gary Fielding, Assistant Chief Executive - Policy, Performance and Partnerships, North Yorkshire County Council and Kate Tayler, Chief Officer, North Yorkshire Forum for Voluntary Organisations.

Secretariat

Secretariat support for the Group is provided by North Yorkshire County Council.
