Community Safety

It is important to us that everyone living, working and studying in North Yorkshire feels safe in their community.  The information on this page provides information on the steps you can take to keep you and your family safe.

Fire prevention (multi-language)

Hate incidents / crimes are any incident or crime where the perpetrators' prejudice against an identifiable group of people is a factor in determining WHO is victimised. This is a broad and inclusive definition. A victim does not have to be a member of the group, in fact anyone can be a victim of hate crime or incidents. You should report hate crimes to the Police, but sometimes, a victim can feel nervous about doing this.  There are a network of reporting centres across North Yorkshire; in libraries and community buildings, where you can go to report a hate crime anonymously if you wish.  You can also report a crime on line.  More details are available here.
